OK, time for some rare sunshine.
Lance Lynn returns to the rotation — or at least, that is the expectation — after having arm surgery a year ago.
That’s a good thing. For a rotation that needs a healthy Adam Wainwright and doesn’t need Mike Leake, finding a 15-game winner is a success.
It appears that is what the Redbirds are banking on.
Lynn, as Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch points out, averages 15 wins a season and Hummel noted that Lynn is now healthy.
Hoping Michael Wacha, Lynn and Wainwright are all healthy may be a stretch. But if that is so and Alex Reyes pitches a full season as a starter, may be the Cardinals could get, oh, 10 games better. That seems a realistic goal.
